Food drive helps community

Sunday, 08 December 2013 05:09

Urgent Care of Mountain View is asking the community to join in its inaugural food drive to help Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry.

“Groups such as Cooperative Christian Ministry work hard all year to help people,” said Emily Killian, Urgent Care of Mountain View’s practice manager. “That’s why we’re so excited to help them fulfill their mission of helping others.”

The food drive will run from now to Dec. 30. Canned foods and other dry goods can be dropped off in the lobby of Urgent Care of Mountain View during business hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays. The office is located at 2872 South N.C. 127 Highway, behind Community 1 Bank in Mountain View.

CCM is especially in need of healthy food options.

Don’t have time to go shopping or don’t want to carry heavy cans? Drop off a check written out to the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry, and Urgent Care of Mountain View will send it for you on the drop-off day.
